Jan 16 - Office Hours : Introducing FREE DevOps BuildCamps: Project-Based Learning Redefined

Learn by Doing—Weekly Projects, Monthly Themes, and a New Community Hub

This week in office hours, we announced an exciting new initiative: DevOps BuildCamps. Designed to take learning to the next level, BuildCamps focus on real-world, project-based learning. Here's what’s new:

  1. DevOps Builders Community:
We've rebranded our community as "DevOps Builders," reflecting our commitment to hands-on, project-oriented growth. We're launching a new subreddit to foster discussions, collaboration, and peer learning. Join us on Reddit to participate in these conversations.

  2. BuildCamp Structure:

    • Monthly Themes: Each month focuses on a specific topic (e.g., Docker for January).

    • Weekly Projects: Every Monday, a new project will be posted. For instance, this week’s task involves containerizing a multi-service application.

    • Live Office Hours: Held every Thursday, these sessions are a chance for members to get real-time support, guidance, and feedback.

  3. Open vs. Premium Tracks:

    • Open Track: Free access to project specifications and discussions on Reddit.

    • Premium Track: Paid members gain additional benefits, including live cohort sessions, structured content, mentorship, gamification, and project feedback.

  4. Craftista Learning App:
BuildCamps center around Craftista, a modern microservices-based application designed for immersive DevOps learning. It’s a robust platform featuring Node.js, Python Flask, Spring Boot, and Golang services, offering an ideal environment to master containerization, orchestration, and more.

  5. Shuhari Learning Philosophy:
BuildCamps are grounded in the Shuhari method of learning:

    • Shu: Build a solid foundation with guided sessions.

    • Ha: Practice and refine skills with hands-on projects.

    • Ri: Innovate and apply your knowledge independently.

This initiative aims to make DevOps learning more accessible, engaging, and practical. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced professional, BuildCamps offer a structured yet flexible pathway to develop real-world skills.
