In this community office hours call, Gourav Shah unveiled exciting plans for the upcoming MLOps Career Track, which will consist of seven or more in-depth courses covering foundational MLOps concepts, Kubernetes-based deployments, and cloud-native MLOps across AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP Vertex AI, and Databricks. The track will also include LLMOps (Large Language Model Operations) and advanced topics like AI Infrastructure and Agentic AI.
Gourav emphasized that this isn't just a single course but a comprehensive career path designed to help DevOps professionals smoothly transition into MLOps and AI platform engineering roles. The approach will focus on transfer learning, leveraging existing DevOps skills like Kubernetes, Docker, and GitOps, to ease the learning curve into the world of MLOps.
Key Announcements:
MLOps Foundations Bootcamp Launch: Starting March 17th, this foundational cohort will teach ML basics, three hands-on projects (including batch and real-time inference use cases), and LLM-based applications.
Live Sessions Update: After extensive experimentation, weekly live training sessions will be discontinued due to low engagement and high personal costs. Instead, a new bi-weekly check-in format will focus on reviewing progress in the monthly challenge-based cohorts.
Subscription & Membership Overhaul: All new and future content, including MLOps and advanced DevOps tracks, will be part of the Nerd subscription plan. Legacy members with lifetime access will retain access to older courses but need to upgrade for new content.
Monthly Challenge Model: Each month will focus on a specific DevOps or MLOps project, supported by recorded lessons, guided challenges, and bi-weekly touchpoints.
March Challenge: Build a modern CI pipeline using Jenkins, Docker, and GitHub.
Python and Coding for DevOps & MLOps:
Python is not a hard prerequisite for the MLOps track, but essential programming knowledge is highly recommended.
Gourav stressed that the days of DevOps professionals avoiding programming are over. Python is particularly important for MLOps, while GoLang is becoming important for Platform Engineering.
Final Message:
Gourav emphasized his commitment to focusing on high-quality content creation, simplifying complex topics, and building projects that closely resemble real-world scenarios. The RealOps community will move forward with project-based learning, regular check-ins, and gamification through leaderboards and Discord engagement.
The first MLOps cohort launches on March 17th, and Gourav invited all members to join, embrace continuous learning, and help shape the future of RealOps.
P.S. : Watch out for an announcement on the upcoming MLOps Program as well as membership changes.
